Hmmmmm.....
The beauty of living in a liberal area is - you get to hear all sorts of thing that liberals believe.
Here is a good one - a liberal friend said to me one time, "I can't believe Republicans!" I froze and let him continue, in no way did I want to blow my cover. He continued, "Why do they say we want socialized healthcare? France has government healthcare and they aren't socialist."
Sheesh.
Here is another one, I asked a liberal how they feel about service at the post office because healthcare will be run as efficiently and effectively as the post office,
The liberal response, "The government doesn't run the post office!"
So, I was talking to a liberal this morning at the pool. My cover has been blown, she knows that I am a Reagan conservative. We were talking about possibly losing our local, public pool due to the high costs of operating a pool.
Isn't that sad? So, we were discussing high government spending and we can see the results of it in our liberal area - higher and higher taxes with fewer and fewer services.
So, she said, that high government spending is the result of greed in our culture. And, the greed is a direct result of capitalism.
Do you see the flaws in that argument?
Yes, there are greedy people in the world. I know that.
Duh.
But, most people who go into a for-profit business are providing a valuable good or service to the population. They risk everything for the business. If the business fails, they might lose their house. If the business succeeds, they will pay lots of taxes, employ lots of people and, hopefully, enjoy the fruits of their labor.
How is that greedy? How is it greedy to be paid for working hard. But, somehow the government taking your money to pay obscene salaries to other government employees or to give your money to people who refuse to work - that ISN'T greedy?
Let's recap, liberals are even grasping the concept that our tax and spend government is out of control and needs to stop spending so much. But, inexplicably a liberal will still blame capitalism for government waste and over spending.
Unbelievable!
Capitalism creates goods and services. (Try going to a socialist country and finding the myriad of yummy chip favors that we have here. Ha!). Capitalism employs people. That gives people an income that they can use to live and to buy things.
Best of all (to liberals) capitalistic, profitable companies pay taxes, lots of taxes. Without capitalism THERE WOULDN'T BE A GOVERNMENT.
Who would pay taxes and pay for all of the bloated government programs and salaries if there is no more capitalism?
I have said it before and I will say it again. We need to slash tax rates. Our corporate tax rates, which are designed to punish capitalists, are the highest in the world. Those high tax rates encourage businesses to flee with their jobs to other countries. When tax rates are low, the economy grows, jobs are available and everyone does better.
Even the government.

Can't buy me love
I am so glad that Chelsea Clinton doesn't have to worry about money.
I mean, her parents were broke, right? Poor baby.
But, she can not imagine a situation in which she would ever care about money.
That is so great - because worrying about money is just so tacky. Having to actually pay a mortgage or pay attention to how much you spend at the grocery store is just so - low.
Or, can she even imagine looking at prices on a menu at a restaurant?
How gouache.

The nanny
I spent the evening at the pool. My daughter wanted to go swimming with a friend she met at science camp.
Science camp is the most expensive week of my year. But, my kids love it and I let them each go for one week. As you might imagine, they meet a lot of kids who attend science camp all summer.
So, I sat at the pool with my child's friend's nanny. The nanny is a young, struggling, hard working student. She lives with her girlfriend and we started talking about her life.
The nanny was telling me how hard it is to make ends meet. She can barely afford food, rent, gas, and insurance.
We didn't talk about health insurance at all. But, we did talk about the outrageous cost of food and gas. And, she is barely making it.
I said that it makes me want to pull every drop of gas that we can find out of the ground and light it up. She agreed.
I asked her how she felt about able-bodied people who pull out an EBT card to pay for steak and those yummy margaritas in cans when she can barely afford to pay for her own food. (She actually contemplated turkey bacon as a cost savings.)
She said that it makes her angry.
I asked her what we should do about it.
She said that there should be a time limit. She said that people can have government benefits for 6 months, then they have to be cut off.
I thought that was a good idea and so I decided to share it with you.
Also, I am sharing this with you because young liberals are suffering. Hard working, college students who nanny to make a living can barely afford to feed themselves. They need help, they are looking for a solution.
YOU CAN GIVE THEM THE SOLUTION.
In our conversation we only tackled the idea of how getting our own energy could reduce food and gas costs as a practical solution to her very real, very important needs.
What conversation could you start with a liberal? How can you show simple solutions to complex problems? Of course, every one of our solutions is exactly the opposite of liberal principles. But, young people have lived with liberal policies their entire lives and they see, first hand, the damage that liberal policies have caused in their own lives.
They can't afford food.
This liberal administration that has preached about shared sacrifice while the president parties with Jay-Z in Vegas is making it nearly impossible for young people to buy food.
This socialist government that has preached endlessly about the evils of income inequality is taking away the futures of our young people.
What are you going to do about it?

ISIS
Islamic States of Syria/Levant
That is what it stands for, just so you know.
Followers of Saddam Hussein and the Sunnis who have been marginalized for the past decade or so in the Middle East are behind this latest terrorist surge.
When Saddam fell, so did their hopes and dreams.
Here is what they have that fuels their fight: hate, patience, a self-imposed righteousness.
That is our enemy. They want our way of life to end.
Here is what we have: apathy, tolerance and a bunch of pot-smoking hippies who care more about getting high that they do about saving their own skins.

A victory for ALL of our rights
"Taking personal offense is not an injury that warrants invoking the power of the courts to shut down everything you disagree with,” Baxter also said. “The Constitution is not a personal tool for censoring everyone’s beliefs but your own.”
This is from the ruling of a federal appeals court to the American Atheists who have been suing for 3 years to have a cross removed from the site of the World Trade Center attack in 9/11.
See, the thing is, I don't care if someone is Atheist. I really don't, that is their business. I don't care who they love, who they marry. It just isn't any of my business.
But, when you attack everything upon which this country was founded and attack MY religious freedom, then you start to wake up a sleeping giant. Or the 85% of this country who identify as being Cnristian.
It is kinda like bombing Pearl Harbor and then getting annihilated by Americans
The American Atheists have sued, for 3 years, to have a cross removed form the site of the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center which took over 3,000 innocent American lives.
Why?
They are offended.
Being offended isn't a reason to sue. And it isn't a reason to stop all displays, public or private, with which you disagree. And, a court in America is upholding that basic idea of freedom. This could be one baby step toward a return to sanity.
Hallelujah!!!

To fight or not to fight
As with every other war in the history of this great nation, we have something that is worth fighting for. We have a peace-loving, freedom-filled country. On my street, we have a gay couple, we have single moms, inter-racial couples, Jewish people and Christians.
This could only happen here. No where else could this or would this possibly happen, ever. The only thing keeping the Muslim from killing every gay person is the armed Christian standing between them.
When all innocent, freedom-loving citizens are disarmed, who will protect the varying factions from terrorism?
There was a line of thought from about the Second World War until the Korean War that we should have just minded our own business. Yup. We could have saved billions of dollars, thousands of lives if we had just let the communists and Nazis kill each other. Then, we could have gone in at the end and annihilated the winner.
Good idea, right?
And it could be a plausible one. Or, there is the idea of protecting ourselves and not fighting unless absolutely necessary. A war weary America (we are always war weary, we go to war begrudgingly, unwillingly and as an absolute last resort, we are so fortunate to have young men and women who are willing to sacrifice everything to preserve the American way of life) defeated communist Russia by Reagan's "peace through strength." By arming ourselves, walking softly and carrying a big stick, we were able to defeat communism.
This time around, the liberals have had the complete run of the show. There has been no conservative influence in federal politics for 6 years. Obama has ensured that by refusing to even acknowledge that Republicans exist. Talk to them? Ha!
How is that working out? We have apologized for our exceptionalism. We have disarmed. We have let our enemies know that we don't want to fight, we want only peace.
Has that made the world safer? Is there more peace?
Or is the world in the biggest mess that it has ever been in?
We had done a good job in Iraq. After winning wars in Germany, Japan and making a peace accord in Korea, we made PEACE AGREEMENTS. We left troops there, planned an exit strategy and the enemy agreed to stop fighting.
Pulling out troops without any sort of agreement or plan isn't winning, it isn't even ending a war, it is fleeing from the battlefield. (See previous post "Show your stripes.")
And, I get it. I actually have family members, from every generation who have fought in wars. The thought of losing one of them - the sickness that I feel each time we lose a soldier. When I see those grieving family members, it is unbearable.
A solder wearing an American flag is a solder who is fighting for freedom anywhere he or she is. He or she is an honorable, noble warrior and I am proud to belong to the same flag.
But, should we sacrifice these brave men and women? Or should we wake up and arm ourselves? How about if we take all those returning soldiers and don't get them jobs as managers and clerks - how about if we employ them right here as SOLDIERS?!?!?
They could help seal up the border. They could help us arm ourselves. They could get us all ready.
Now, am I totally missing what is going on? Or, is that a good idea? What do you think?

More about zoo camp
At zoo camp, I guess that every day at lunch, the girls in the 13-14 group talked about gay marriage.
Ok, these are 13 and 14 year olds. Why do they even care? And, why would they feel the need to talk about it so openly, like at lunch at zoo camp.
Now, Phil Robertson was fired from his own very profitable television show for saying that he is for traditional marriage.
The CEO of Mozilla, Brendan Eich, was fired, from his own company, for being for traditional marriage.
So, my child, at zoo camp, said, "Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion, right?"
Wrong.
I told her that was ok. But, I also told her not to say anything else. She needs to just get up and walk away.
I would never, for one second, belittle the struggle of blacks in this country. There is no similarity between being black and being gay, none.
However, the persecution that blacks faced in the civil rights era was very similar to what we face now for standing up for Christian beliefs.
If my child had said that she was for traditional marriage, she would have been kicked out of zoo camp and she might have been charged with a hate crime for engaging in "hate speech."
We love everyone. But, being against gay marriage is something that has to be hidden. Just like people who had to hide their opinion that black people were equal to white people. We have to hide our (ludicrous) notion that ideas different from the narrow liberal agenda are acceptable.
And, just like then, that is ok now. We will show who we are by our love.
Right?
We will show everyone that our tolerant, open, loving, Christian agenda envelops EVERYONE. That is how we roll.
Who is with me?

Patents
The US parent office has revoked the patent of the Washington Redskins.
The government doesn't like the name, so, it has to go.
This is personal property, owned by a private organization. And, since the liberal government doesn't like it, the property (and its entire value) can be just taken away by the government.
This is so scary. If you are not scared, you aren't paying attention.
What if I design a brand new way to make quilting squares and I decide to form the "Ted Nugent field-dressing, commando quilters?"
Will the US grant me a patent?
Or, if I already have a patent for the Tea Party Patriot under water basket weaving society? Will the government simply take away my intellectual property?
If they don't like it or are offended by it, I guess so.
What are we going to do about this?

Progressive agenda for your pet
Honestly, I just shouldn't leave the house.
I was strolling through the square in my mom's town. This town is not in the inner city, it is in the suburbs.
There is a classic small town, downtown square, with a big gazebo and everything. There are lots of little businesses all along the square. I am a capitalist, I want them to succeed. We bought some oil from the gourmet oil shop, some cupcakes from the little bakery and a gift from the specialty gift shop.
There was a pet store. Our beloved dog has been scratching a lot. She doesn't do it in the winter and she doesn't have fleas. She seems to get nervous and itchy in the summer due to storms, which totally stress her out and all of the lawn equipment going all day long.
See how succinctly I just described the dog's condition?
Well, at the specialty, over-priced pet store they had doggie stress relief tablets. There were about $20. I would have GLADLY forked over 20 bucks, to support her business and to help my precious pet.
But, a personal progressive liberal agenda was, instead, in store for my dog.
Instead of recommending a pet relief product for me, I had one in each hand. The store owner asked, "What kind of food does she eat?"
That's when I knew that I was in trouble. I said (stupidly), "Purina."
"Well, most dogs can't handle corn products."
I knew that was coming, I couldn't buy the herbal, organic, natural stress relieving product for my dog. Nope, I was going to have to completely change my dog's lifestyle to fit her personal narrative.
So, (stupidly) I replied, "She only gets itchy like this in the summer."
I am not really sure exactly what kind of snarky response she unleashed because I put down both $20 bottles of stress relieving doggy potion and walked out the door.
I will be going to Wal-mart where I will pay 1/4 of that for a perfectly fine pill or herbal remedy that will help my dog.
Why did she do it? Why can't I feed my dog Purina and give her the herbal supplement for the months when she is itchy? Why do I have to adopt a much more expensive, organic, herbal doggie lifestyle just because she says so?
But, that is how liberal progressives think, isn't it?
If I eat organize, extremely expensive food EVERYONE ELSE HAS TO TOO AND ANYONE WHO DOESN'T IS NOT OK!
It is this way with every liberal point of view.

Thor
It was just one of those days.
I was lying on my couch with a glass of wine, watching the blond god. The lights were off. Each one of my family members came into the room, in turn. Each one looked at me, looked at what I was watching and quietly backed out of the room.
I needed to be alone with Thor.
Why does Hollywood continue to create films that are so vastly different from the personal progressive liberal agendas of many of Hollywood's elites?
In the beginning of the film, Thor is arrogant and foolish. He accidentally starts a war and gets banished - to earth.
Once fully aware of the mess he has gotten himself into, he immediately becomes humble and apologetic. He works hard to prove himself and be accepted back into his kingdom.
And, he does it all while being extremely hot. Oh, and because he is noble, he has impeccable manners.
But, do elite liberal progressives believe this message? Do they believe that being humble, working and and doing your best really is a good thing?
They portray it in movies. But, inexplicably, they preach a completely different ideology in real life.
Hard work and success are bad according to liberal progressives. If you can't be an actor, rapper or athlete, elite liberal progressives seem to believe that living off the government is just a-ok.
Elite liberal progressives aren't humble, they have terrible manners if you don't agree with their narrow liberal agenda.
I know that I have written about this before. But, Hollywood does get it, they make movies about it all the time. But, for some reason, they leave the correct ideology at the workplace and don't see that it translates to the real world.
When is Captain America coming on?

One World, Two Actually
So, I went to the zoo today to pick up my daughter who has spent the week at "zoo camp." As all of the parents were being herded into the rhino tent for "sharing time" we heard our precious children singing.
Aw!
"I am a friend of the alligator!" Wait, if you are friends with an alligator, you will get eaten, that is stupid, I thought. But, the song wasn't over.
"It is better to be friends with an alligator than to have it as a purse!" I just dropped $200 bucks for a camp where my child is being indoctrinated into this ludicrous liberal babble?
You can imagine my state of mind when I settled into my rhino table with all of the other parents and noticed that an armed man was guarding the proceedings. Seriously, he was in full SWAT gear, flak vest, fully armed.
So, we are friends with the alligators but the parents need an armed guard? What if I had stood up and defended leather? Well, guess what? I didn't! Because while my kid was being brainwashed by PETA, I knew that I could be taken down by special forces.
See how that works?
That is the first world. Let's take a little trip to the other one, shall we?
Last night, my zoo camp daughter had a concert. She sings with a show choir that is phenomenal and they travel around. First, the choir looks exactly like a cross section of the population. There are blondes, brunettes, red-heads (one of those may not be natural) there are black kids, Asian kids, Jewish kids and Christian kids.
They sang an American spiritual. I cried while I sang along. They sang patriotic songs, Broadway show tunes, even some Michael Jackson songs. By the end, when they sang the Battle Hymn of the Republic, I was clapping like a seal on heroin.
World number 2 was totally different. In this world, it was ok to be proud to be an American. Christian ideals were praised. No one was snarky or nasty.
I don't know how well I am explaining this. But, I like world #2 a whole lot better.
How about you?

Does anyone actually believe that the Lois Lerner emails can't be recovered? Seriously?
It makes me furious that this snarky administration continues to throw up the most ludicrous lies to explain away scandal after scandal.
They think that we are all stupid. It doesn't matter what your race is, your religion or your socio-economic level, the Obama administration thinks that you are stupid. Their agenda, which is to weaken America in every conceivable way is so important that they will lie about anything to accomplish it.
Would Obamacare have passed if we had all known that millions of people were going to be thrown off their plans and that millions more won't ever see their doctor again?
Of course not!
But, socialized healthcare is the linchpin in the socialist society. So, Obama had to have a government take over of healthcare, at all costs. The Obama administration had to lie to get it passed.
Lois Lerner was in charge of torturing political opponents of Obama during an election year. She is in contempt of congress. She has refused to testify and now her hard drive has been destroyed. The emails are still on the server. I know that and I don't know anything about technology.
The snark that the IRS has given to congress about this abuse of power is disgusting. It is hard to watch.
I can't bear to go over the entire list of scandals, please see the previous 300 posts. You know what they are. Each time the Obama administration has given a big old middle finger to you and to me.
What are you going to do about it?

Capitalism
I think it is time that we had a lesson in what makes this country great:
Capitalism.
See, capitalism doesn't provide for equal outcomes, it provides equal OPPORTUNITIES. Your hard work and dedication dictate the outcome.
Socialism, on the other hard, tries to provide equal outcomes, without any regard to hard work and dedication.
The problem is, this completely ignores human nature.
In capitalism - you might start working at a restaurant making a small wage. If you work hard enough, do a good job and save your money, one day you could buy that restaurant. Isn't that beautiful?
Let's look at the socialist way, which is fully operational in Europe and is making its way here. In Europe, if you work at a restaurant, you make a living wage. So, no matter how hard you work, you will get paid the same amount. There is no incentive to work hard. If you work hard, you aren't going to be paid anymore, so why work hard?
And, owning the business? Snort. Who would ever lay down their life savings to open a restaurant when they have to pay all of the government fees, taxes, healthcare and all of those living wages to employees? There would be no profit in it, and not as many people would open businesses.
We have so many more choices here than in Europe, more products, more restaurants, more of everything. The free market dictates what succeeds. If you make a good product and sell it at a good price, you will succeed. When the government takes over things, that is a monopoly, there is no competition and no incentive to make anything better.
When I was an undergrad, I spent many a night at home studying while my roommates or sorority sisters were out partying. Why? I wanted to get a better job.
My first job was at Denny's, I waited tables during the 6:00 pm to 4:00 am shift. It was hard, a little scary and the pay stunk.
So, I studied hard, got an accounting degree and got a much better job.
What if the person at Denny's makes the same amount as a person who has an accounting degree? Who would ever stay in and study instead of partying? No one! Everyone will go get jobs at places like Denny's and we won't have anymore accountants.
For that matter, who would ever stay in and study advanced chemistry or medicine when a chemist or a doctor makes the same about of money as a cashier?
I love work and am a proud worker. There is no shame in working hard at a low paying job. I did it and it inspired me to work harder and do better.
But, in a capitalistic society, having a low paying job doesn't dictate who are you, just where you currently are in your life. In a socialist society, it is virtually impossible to move up. Your low paying job is who you are. The taxes and government regulation make it almost impossible to change your station in life.
Only in a capitalistic society are there equal opportunities for people to work hard and advance themselves.
In a socialist society, there is no incentive to work hard because no matter how hard you work, you will never get ahead.

Recipe for disaster
1. Punish success, tell the successful that they didn't really become successful on their own. Belittle work. Start class warfare, raise taxes, crush businesses with regulation,
2. Add to the cost of doing business a layer of government bureaucracy so huge that it takes up 1/6 of the economy (that is government run healthcare)
3. Take away all work requirements for entitlement programs
Stir, now you have an angry, lazy entitlement society that wants to get something for nothing. You now have an "I exist and so you owe me something" welfare state.
4. Slash the military, we can't afford it with all of those food stamps we are giving to to perfectly healthy people!
5. Crush the energy industry, double the price of gas, triple the cost of food and increase the cost of heating homes.
6. Open the borders and give free healthcare, education, food stamps and welfare to illegal aliens.
7. Release radical terrorists who live for one reason - to kill Americans.
Mix thoroughly and put in the oven.
Very soon, you will have a complete disaster.

How to Train Your Dragon 2
We went to see How to Train your Dragon 2 today.
The animation is excellent. They have aged the characters 5 years, since the last movie. So, the 15 year old characters from the last movie are now 20. They animated little stubble on their chins. Pure genius.
Very quickly the premise of the movie was presented:
Stoic, the leader of the Vikings, knows that an evil killer wants to attack their village.
Hiccup, Stoic's son and future leader of the village, believes that he can REASON WITH THE BAD GUY. Hiccup insists that, if he could only talk to the crazed, deranged killer, he can change the killer's mind.
Why did my kids look at me that way during that part of the movie?
I almost got up, walked out, got my $25 back and started blogging to my public.
But, then the long-lost mom showed up and so I had to stick it out.
1. Hiccup meets the bad guy. The bad guy tries to kill him. The bad guy starts a war to kill everyone in Hiccup's entire village.
2. Hiccup lays down his weapon, the bad guy keeps right on trying to kill him.
3. Hiccup tries to reason with the bad guy and that is when Stoic gets killed by the bad guy while saving his son.
At no point does reason or peace talks have any effect on the bad guy at all.
See? That is how it works. Bad guys are bad, no amount of reason, logic, or talking will change that.
So, maybe there is a little bit of hope for Hollywood after all.

And they voted...
Militants have taken over two cities north of Baghdad and are preparing to take that city, too.
So, the enemy has voted. The war isn't over, they are still fighting. We didn't win, we just retreated.
I am horrified, thinking of the way they these terrorists treat people. Our troops had a humanitarian mission in helping the Afghan and Iraqi people.
But, as much as that bothers me, I can't imagine what the families of fallen troops must feel. Their sons and daughters paid the ultimate price for freedom.
And, our incompetent president has withdrawn from the battle.
Now what?

Humana ad
There is an ad that is running right now from Humana. The ad says, "There is a gap between you and your healthcare."
Duh - it's called Obamacare - someone took a huge crowbar, wrenched our healthcare out of our hands and stuffed a 3 trillion dollar, government wedge between us and our healthcare.
The solution in the ad? Close the gap!
Duh, again!
Let's get rid of a huge, bloated bureaucracy that has taken healthcare away from doctors and put it in the hands of the most inefficient system in the world - the government.
I would think that the ad is funny, if it weren't so sad.

Sesame Street logic
When we won world war 2, we made agreements with Japan and Germany. They promised to stop attacking at killing people - THEN, the war was over.
In the war on terror, I heard someone say that the enemy gets a vote. I thought that was a really good way to put it.
The enemy does get a vote. Just because we have laid down our weapons and have stopped fighting, it doesn't mean that the war is over. The enemy hates us and will keep fighting until we are all dead.
We don't want war, we don't want to fight. But, our way of life is worth fighting for.
The idea that when we stop fighting and withdraw, the war is over is Sesame Street logic. It sounds really good in a catchy tune sung by big-eyes puppets, but it doesn't work in reality.
The enemy still has a vote.

My doctor actually hates America
You are not going to believe this...
At some point in the last three days, during my drug-filled, infection-crazed stupor, I (allegedly) said, "Welcome to America" to my doctor of Indian ancestry.
He just came in here and, I thought, we were having a pleasant conversation about my follow up care and the Ted Nugent classic, "Cat Scratch Fever" when he suddenly started yelling at me. I truly have no idea how or why the conversation turned. (Maybe it was when I called Bob Dylan a hippie.) He said that America isn't the greatest country in the world.
I calmly said, "It is the greatest country in the world. Stop yelling at me. And, why are you yelling at me, anyway?"
He said, "I live here because I make a living here. But, you are naive to think that this country is the best at everything." He then asked what country is #1 in education, in happiness? I said that I didn't know. What country is #1 in those things?
He wouldn't tell me.
Then, he said, "Want to talk about healthcare?"
I said, from my hospital bed, in my scrubs, with the iv beeping in the background, "No."
He said, "What about England?"
I said, "The problems with the NHS are legendary. Long wait times, terrible patient care..."
He interrupted, "What about Canada and Germany?"
I said, "Are you going to let me answer? The government run healthcare systems are run as poorly as the VA..."
He kept interrupting, telling me that I was naive, that America isn't great, until the nurse made him come out of the room.
Can you believe this? This is what we are dealing with. A doctor who lives and works in America and treats American patients everyday has a deeply held disdain for this country. This comes from Obama's race and class warfare. You know that, right?
Why isn't this doctor proud to be an American? And, why isn't he proud to work in the greatest healthcare system the world has ever known? How can someone who has achieved so much feel so much spite toward America? How could one comment from a sick redneck make someone so angry?
Is this going to get worse or is it going to get better?
I guess that is up to us, isn't it?

Stray Cat Strut
I haven't been able to blog because my left wrist is red and swollen from an infection and my right arm is sore from a tetanus shot and has an iv in it.
Here is why:
On Wednesday afternoon, I was going to take my dog on a long walk. We went into the backyard and my dog (an 88 pound German shepherd) started going completely nuts.
I looked toward where she was barking and discovered a cat dangling from a utility wire about 12 feet in the air. I grabbed a chair and tried to reach the cat. There wasn't time to get a ladder, there wasn't time to unlock the door and put the dog back in the house. The kitty's little arms started shaking because it couldn't hold on any longer.
So, I caught it when it fell.
And, I got a bacterial infection and have to stay in the hospital for 3 days. We need to shell out our entire deductible for this little visit or face financial ruin.
There are so many things to blog about - the healthcare system, into which I have just been immersed, the Bergdahl mess, the Susan Rice mess. Well, it is hard to keep up with all of the messes!
I am on the mend and should be released tomorrow.
I will blog more soon.

There are so many things to blog about - the healthcare system, into which I have just been immersed, the Bergdahl mess, the Susan Rice mess. Well, it is hard to keep up with all of the messes!
I am on the mend and should be released tomorrow.
I will blog more soon.

Follow up to big boy pants
I am speechless. It is rare, but it does happen occasionally.
I am still thrilled about the potential release of Meriam Ibrahim, the innocent Christian woman who is to be spared in the Sudan.
But, obviously, my initial confusion about the release of 5 Guantanomo Bay terrorists has turned into a firestorm across the nation.
People who served with Bergdahl say that he was a deserter. Berghahl's father began his remarks at the White House by saying, "In the name of Allah the merciful" in Arabic, and, it seems as though in exchange for this possible deserter, we have released the Taliban dream team.
In his defense, Obama goes on and on about never leaving a man behind. But, can that argument really be used when a man is currently rotting in a Mexican prison? We are leaving him behind.
And, I am completely sure that we left 4 brave men to die in Benghazi because rescuing them didn't fit in with the political narrative that the Al Qeada was "on the run."
So, the "leaving no one behind" argument as an excuse to release terrorists is a flimsy one at best. Obama even admits, "Is there the possibility of some of them trying to return to activities that are detrimental to us? Absolutely, that's been true of all the prisoners that were released from Guantanamo. There's a certain recidivism rate that takes place."
We really don't need that kind of recidivism, do we? The kind that takes the lives of 3,000 innocent Americans? Can we really risk that kind of recidivism? And, why do we want to free any of the known terrorists anyway?
There are a few fringe, hippie, loonies that believe we deserve to be attacked because we are so bad.
(Their main argument is that we are imperialist, but, if you have been paying attention in 4th grade history, you know that couldn't be farther from the truth.)
Other than the few loonies, MOST Americans can agree that we should be able to:
1. Live in peace
2. Heat our homes
3. Expect to be safe from terrorists
But, we can no longer expect any of those things, thanks to the Obama administration.
First, Obama incited race and class warfare. People who might have been motivated to work harder and get off public assistance have been fed the lie that they deserved public assistance. It is their due. So, instead of having to peel off food stamps that are only good for bread, milk and eggs, they get an EBT card. They can swipe it with pride and no one ever needs to know. They can get cash and use the money for cigarettes, beer, anything.
While hard working Americans are told that they can't really work hard, businesses have been crushed by over-taxation, over-regulation and the ultimate economy killer, Obamacare.
Now, there isn't enough money for the military because we can't take away those entitlement programs, can we? So, we slash the military.
Instead of waging a war against our enemies, Obama has waged an all out war on our own energy industry. He has banned the Keystone pipeline and now is completing his war on coal. He doesn't have to pay the light bill at the White House.
Inexplicably, we are now negotiating with terrorists and have broadcast to the world that if you nab one American, Obama will release 5 terrorists to get him or her back.
Pray, pray for our country. Right now. Be sure that all of your friends and neighbors know what is going on. The mainstream media literally does no reporting on the scandals (and horrors) of this administration.
Pray and then vote. Be sure that all of your friends and neighbors vote for every conservative who is running, for anything.
Remember the story of Jonah in the Bible? God gave Ninevah, that evil city, a chance to repent. They did repent and God spared Ninevah. Let's be Ninevah.

Somebody put on his big-boy pants
I am so glad that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahi, who I didn't even know had been held for the entire Obama presidency, has been released.
I am also glad that Meriam Ibrahim will be released.
See what can happen when someone puts on his big-boy pants?
Of course, I am not too thrilled about 5 Guantanamo "detainees" being released.
Why do we call people who want lower taxes or oppose abortion "terrorists" but we call actual terrorists "detainees?"
Anyway, my point is (there is one) that when Obama wants to do something good, he can. He just, normally, doesn't want to. He has all of those pressing social engagements.
The thing about Benghazi is that the people who died could have been saved and everybody knows it. But, for some reason they weren't. And, nobody can understand why.
But, this administration is perfectly capable of doing the right thing when it is politically expedient or when it wants to.
Meanwhile, all of us will continue scratching our heads and trying to figure out why this administration so seldom wants to actually do anything good.

Concussions
Obama spent the latter part of the week addressing the pressing national concern - concussions in the National Football League.
It is true that when everything is going totally peachy, hunky-dory, a president can start addressing other areas that are of interest.
However, when the following is happening and the president spends time blasting the NFL:
-your attorney general is STILL in contempt of congress for fast and furious
-your (former) IRS chief is in contempt of congress for torturing your political opponents during and election year
-you are destroying the economy with: Obamacare, EPA regulations and high taxes
-the economy is actually shrinking
-you have been caught spying on all Americans and
-the VA (government run, just like Obamacare) healthcare system is so corrupt and inefficient that people are dying waiting for care...
Well, someone needs to have his head checked.
