Happy thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving Proclamation
President George Washington
City of New York, October 3, 1789

Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor, and Whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me "to recommend to the People of the United States a day of public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness."

Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26thday of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be. That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks, for his kind care and protection of the People of this country previous to their becoming a Nation, for the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his providence, which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late war, for the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyed, for the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately instituted, for the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us.

And also that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressions, to enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually, to render our national government a blessing to all the People, by constantly being a government of wise, just and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed, to protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shown kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concord. To promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the encrease of science among them and Us, and generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.

You can't make a deal with the devil

But, God love 'em, liberals are gonna try.

Actually, liberals don't believe in God.  They don't believe in the devil either.

Which is why they cling desperately to their ideology.  There is Kate Winslet again, hanging on to that headboard with Leo DiCaprio's frozen, dead hand on there.

If there is no God and there is no devil, good and evil originate inside each of us.  We are all good deep down, we just need to talk more and understand each other better.  If we lay down our weapons and let our enemies know that we mean them no harm, they will tap into their internal goodness and there will be world peace!

Kum-ba-ya!!!

Wait a minute, that doesn't work, does it?  No, we have tried it.  Obama went on his apology world tour, letting all of our enemies know that he thinks Americans and their ideals are chumps.  Along the way, he let our friends know that he thinks they are chumps, too.  He sent back a bust of Churchill that was in the White House.

Grrrrrrr

But, our enemies didn't lay down their weapons, did they?  No, it emboldened them.  And, they have seen our weakness.  They have renewed their efforts to kill us.

See, good and evil do exist.  Despite the liberal ideology. God and the devil do exist.

My grandmother used to say, "You can't trade smells with a skunk.  The skunk likes it and you start to stink."

Whether it is Syria, North Korea or Syria, you can't make a deal with the devil.

Another day in the 4th grade

I wish that the president, his cabinet and every member of congress could come to my house for one day.  Just a day, I think that would do it.  In addition to getting their own copy of the page-turner, "The Constitution and You," they would get valuable lessons that they could use each and every day.

Like the lesson we had today.

It was called, "Capitalism and New Wealth."  Really, I could end the blog here, but you know that I won't.

Today, in 4th grade history, we learned about Adam Smith.  We learned about supply and demand.  We learned that if you can sell something for more than it cost to make it, you will make a profit.

We learned that, the way the government operates, it should go out of business.

James Shields, an English businessman purchased tools and clothes from the British.  England had an abundance of clothes and tools because of textile mills and factories.

That is called supply.

Shields took the clothes and tools to the West Indies where he traded them for sugar.  The West Indies had plenty of sugar, but not a lot of clothes and tools.

That is demand.

He then took the sugar back to England where it was quickly stirred into afternoon tea all across her majesty's kingdom and baked into yummy scones, tarts and pies.

Supply and demand.  What if he had wanted to sell sugar in the West Indies?  He would have gone out of business, there is no demand for it. What if he had tried to sell clothes and tools in England?  He wouldn't have done that well either.  In both instances, there was more supply than demand.  Instead, he matched up buyers and sellers in different parts of the world.

Capitalism advanced societies in both parts of the world!  And, it provided all kinds of new wealth.  Both societies prospered from the advancement.  Capitalism and new wealth.  Ah, it brings a tear to my eye.

Let's try to use this information and put it into a real world example.

Hmmmm.  Oh!  I got one.

Let's say that a person has health insurance.  The person is a young, healthy man.  He is not married and he has no children.  Currently, the man pays $50 a month for health insurance.  Now, the free market made that possible.  Using supply and demand, the man found, on the open market, something that he liked and he bought it.

One thing that is very different from the free market, capitalism and the laws of supply and demand is the government.  The government doesn't use any of these principles in its operations.  The government decides who gets what.  It takes by force from some and give to others that it deems worthy.

Back to our consumer.  Say the government decides that he should have pediatric services covered in his plan.  Let's say that the government also decides that he should have maternity care in his plan oh and he should also have mental health coverage and substance abuse coverage.  He could use those things sometime and other people need them and he is going to help pay for them for the greater good.

Now, the plan costs $500 a month.  There is no DEMAND for that product.  The government can't sell that plan because the free market could sell it for $50.

So, what does the government have to do?  The government has to FORCE people to buy that "better" plan.  Furthermore, the government has to PUNISH people who are smart enough to not want to buy the ridiculous 10 times more expensive plan.

Instead of supply and demand, the free market providing valuable goods and services to people, we now have force and punishment, the government deciding who should get what and for how much.

So, come on over guys.  My 9 year old has a little lesson that she would like to teach you.

The Agility of Local Charities

I was talking to a person, who is one of the nicest people in the world, about her charity work.  She works two jobs and volunteers to help people in her area.

It was so interesting to hear from someone who actually does the work, that local charities are so much more effective than the federal government.

Remember the organization I mentioned previously?  We hand food directly to the people who need it.  Her group does the same thing.  If someone needs help paying a bill, the group will pay the money DIRECTLY to the light company or whatever bill needs to be paid.

At the local level, volunteers know the needy.  One person was applying for emergency food aid.  As he was doing that, another volunteer walked in and said, "Hi!  Didn't you just get some food from over there?"  See, the worker knew the person seeking aid.  He knew that he had just gotten food from several different places.

The point is - it is much harder to perpetuate fraud on the local level because people know people.  They are, literally, "boots on the ground" in this war on poverty.

It isn't like the journalist (who I have seen several times) give interviews and hold up her numerous "Obama phones."  She went to several different welfare offices in the same city and was issued 3 Obama phones.  No one checked that she already had one, no one checked to see if she qualified and no one cared.

The money that the federal government gives away doesn't belong to the federal government.  It belongs to the people.  The government has no incentive to take good care of the people's money.  The government doesn't operate for profit.  If they run out of money, the government doesn't go out of business (unfortunately.)  The government just turns around and demands more money from the people.

Charity, entitlements, hand-outs from the federal government just don't work.  There is so much fraud, there is so much inefficiency.  So little of the resources actually make it to the truly needy.

There is no agility in the federal government.  It is like the Titanic, huge, unmanageable, unable to turn and it is sinking.

For those truly in need, charities on the local lever do a much better job of helping people.

JFK

I have to mention it, it is all anyone is talking about.  Well, after they finish talking about the complete incompetency of the Obama administration, THEN, they talk about the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination.

I am not a Kennedy buff, I have never understood why they called it "Camelot."  He was a decent looking guy.  But, didn't he, like, cheat on his wife all the time?  And, I have never understood why the Kennedy's are called "American royalty."  They aren't royal.  They were really rich, but didn't they amass a fortune during prohibition?  And, there were some suspicious deaths and anyhoo...

I digress.

There is one quote that I have heard a couple of times this week - it is a quote where JFK talks about lowering taxes.

I don't care who you are.  That is the current position of the conservative, Republican Party.  Tory, Whig, carpet-bagger, these parties changed over time.

The current position of conservatives is to lower taxes.  JFK, in that quote, wanted to lower taxes.  That's it.  Call him a conservative if you want.  But, he didn't call lower taxes, arrogant, selfish, stupid and racist.  He didn't say that everyone needed to pay their fair share.  He said that lowering taxes, reducing the government burden on citizens, would open up the economy.  And, he was right.  Putting more money in the hands of the people increases the economy.

JFK knew that.  I didn't know that he knew that, but he did.  Today, he would get kicked out of the Democratic Party faster than you can say Kennebunkport.

JFK and then Reagan (who quoted JFK often) ushered in an era of the greatest prosperity the world has ever known.

Obama has almost gotten rid of it with that dang pen of his.  Will someone take that thing away, already?  Maybe he should get out of the office, stretch his legs, play a little golf.

War on Christmas 2

Don't kid yourself, there are going to be a lot of blogs called, "War on Christmas," so get ready.

I read recently that the American Humanist Association sent letters to schools demanding that they not participate in Operation Christmas Child.  This outreach is a ministry of Samaritan's Purse.  The humanist group said that the program violated the constitution.

I am going to go out on a limb here and guess that the American Humanist Association is liberal.  Liberals are supposed to be the most tolerant and open-minded people.  But, they aren't.  It isn't enough to be a humanist.  If you are a liberal humanist, you must demand that all others ascribe to your belief system.

They are doing exactly what they claim that Christians do.  But, Christians don't do that (anymore.)  Christians go to church, do their thing and eat excellent baked goods.

Operation Christmas Child gives toys and gifts to children who are needy.  These children might not get the toys and clothes if it weren't for the Operation Christmas Child program.  I am guessing here, again.  But, I bet there are people of every race who benefit from the program.

Liberals are supposed to look out for the little guy.  They want to help poor people by giving them all sorts of free stuff.

But, they don't want to give people free stuff in the name of Christian charity.  Only the federal government has the right to re-distribute wealth.  The government should take things, by force, from some people and give those things to people who they deem worthy of getting it.

Giving freely is not something that liberals understand.  That is why the use of force is necessary.  Grace isn't understood by this humanist group.

Because, you see, in the end they are hurting all of those people that they claim they want to help.

Martin Bashir

We are living in a very duplicitous society.  One in which some things are punished and others aren't.

Alec Baldwin was recently taken off the air for two weeks by MSNBC for using a gay slur.

But, nothing has really happened to Martin Bashir for what he has said about Sarah Palin.  He gave a sneery-lipped, wooden apology.  It was an apology that I wouldn't have accepted from my own child.  She would have gone back to her room until some real remorse showed up.

That's ok, though, right?  Liberals HATE Sarah Palin.  She is the poster child for the American Dream!  She is a hard-working, successful career woman with both a family and a great job.  Liberals want that for all women, right?  Who is having that war on women again?

Let me be clear about what Bashir said, the clips have been played a lot and I am going to say it once, once, because that is absolutely enough.  Some media outlets aren't playing the entire quote.  Either it is illegal by the FCC to re-play it or they are just too polite.  So, they aren't playing the exact words, just paraphrasing.  I wanted to know exactly what he said (and for that I am truly sorry).  Here we go...

Sarah Palin, in a speech, said that we are all becoming slaves to the government.  And, we are.  We are less and less free, each time Obama picks up a pen.  Slaves throughout history haven't been slaves based on race.  That is brand new, only in the past 200 years did people enslave based on race.

For over 3,000 years, people have been enslaved for their religion, political ideology and ancestry.  In the middle east (it has been around a while) everyone was kinda brown-ish and people were slaves anyway.

Her comment had nothing to do with race.  Slavery really hasn't always been about race, it has been about those other things.  OK?  We are currently becoming more and more enslaved to our tyrannical government.

Martin Bashir, then, with nostrils flaring said that Palin should be subjected to a slavery-like punishment:

"Given her well-established reputation as a world class idiot, it’s hardly surprising that [Palin] should choose to mention slavery in a way that is abominable to anyone who knows anything about its barbaric history.
So here’s an example. One of the most comprehensive first-person accounts of slavery comes from the personal diary of a man called Thomas Thistlewood, who kept copious notes for 39 years. Thistlewood was the son of a tenant farmer, who arrived on the island of Jamaica in April 1750, and assumed the position of overseer at a major plantation. What is most shocking about Thistlewood’s diary is not simply the fact that he assumes the right to own and possess other human beings, but is the sheer cruelty and brutality of his regime. In 1756, he records that a slave named Darby ‘catched eating kanes; had him well flogged and pickled, then made Hector, another slave, s-h-i-t in his mouth.’ This became known as ‘Darby’s Dose,’ a punishment invented by Thistlewood that spoke only of... inhumanity. And he mentions a similar incident in 1756, his time in relation to a man he refers to as Punch. ‘Flogged Punch well, and then washed and rubbed salt pickle, lime juice and bird pepper. Made Negro Joe piss in his eyes and mouth'. I could go on, but you get the point.
When Mrs. Palin invokes slavery, she doesn’t just prove her rank ignorance. She confirms if anyone truly qualified for a dose of discipline from Thomas Thistlewood, she would be the outstanding candidate."

OK, all I am saying is - if a conservative commentator on any network, anywhere, no matter who they were and who they worked for said that, or something like that - would be fired.  Fired, period.

Were is the liberal outrage?  Were is the righteous indignation?

This is a shining example of our duplicitous society.  There is nothing else to say.

Hard work

I am in sales, not sure if you remember.

I was out selling stuff last night and some successful, hard-working business people asked me about how my business is going.

I wanted to answer completely here.  Business is OK, despite all of Obama's job-killing, regulation-strangling, tax-destroying policies.

The biggest obstacle to a successful business?  Finding people who want to WORK HARD.

See, in our society we have mocked success, we have belittled hard work as something for only chumps.  Meanwhile, we have trained an entire generation that they exist and someone owes them something.

We have an entire generation of people who got a trophy just for showing up to the soccer game. (And a snack, ugh!  Kids can't run around for an hour without eating, no wonder there is a problem!)

I am out looking for someone who wants to work hard with me to either: earn an income or get free products.  Each year, it gets harder and harder to find people who want to do either.

This is sales, you earn based on how much you work.  They don't want to do the work.

You can get lots of free stuff, based on how hard you work.  Not many people want to work their butts off, even to get free stuff!  (You did, though, you know who you are!)

So, that, in a nutshell is the story of my business (keep clicking on those ads.)

Also, a reader shared with me the amount of deductions being taken out of his paycheck.  The reader earns enough for a normal, American lifestyle.  The reader is single and has no children.

The reader is having 30% of his check taken by the government for federal, state, local and social security taxes.  The reader would probably make more by staying home and collecting unemployment.

Just to recap, here is the playbook: demonize success, punish the workers, make government assistance appear palatable.

This is what we get - the declining, decaying, bankrupt (both morally and monetarily) societies of western Europe.

Another day in the hood

There are a lot of dogs in the hood.  That's fine, I have my redneck dog.  She loves:

-long walks,
-holding paws,
-playing with other dogs and
-she is emotionally available.

A lot of liberals elevate their dogs to human status.  Other than, "I wuv my puppy, I wuv my puppy!!!!"  We don't do that.

Please see previous post (Wild Animals 1 and 2).

For example, dogs like to be in enclosed spaces.  They are den animals.  When they go into a "crate" they feel safe and secure.  Some animal activist-type people say, "Oh!  Don't put your dog in a cage, that's cruel!"  But, it isn't.  It would be cruel to put a person in an itty-bitty cage.  It isn't cruel to a dog.  Dogs and humans are different that way and in many other ways.

One thing that I have noticed in the hood is that as people approach me with their dogs, they make their dogs sit down.  So, I have to walk by them and control my dog.  I have taught my dog (thank goodness) not to pull and not to bark, so I can get by relatively easily.

But, what if I had my dog sit down and waited for them to pass?  Would we just sit there looking at each other all day?  Why does their dog sit while I pass?  It is just like every other liberal philosophy out there, it sounds good, but it doesn't work out in real life.

So, this morning, I passed a man, he and his dog were on the other side of the street.  Being the good redneck that I am, I yelled hello.  I had to do it 5 times before he would answer.  Should have known.

As I was returning home, he was approaching me on the same side of the street.  When we were about half a block away from each other, he had his dog sit down.  He and his dog were now blocking my path.

I said, "Hi!"  (We have already had problems with this, see above.)

No answer.

I said, "I need to go right by where you are standing and turn that direction."

He said, "The sidewalk is big enough for 2 people."

I again, said, "Well, I need to go that way, right where you are standing."

He stormed off, across the street muttering under his breath.

I said, "What?"

He said, "You learn to share in kindergarten, it's not that hard!"  And then kept mumbling and shooting me the double major stink eye.

This happens completely naturally now.  I immediately thought of every liberal senator, representative, appointee and commentator.

A Republican says, "Five million people have just lost their health insurance."

Liberal, "You are racist!"

R: "But, what about all of those people?  Don't you care about them?  What are they going to do?"

L: "Racist!"

There is that disconnect (see previous posts, Disconnect 1 and 2).  What they are saying doesn't really have anything to do with the situation or what is going on.

They completely reject context.

Yes, the street is big enough for 2 people to pass, that is true.  But, it doesn't have anything to do with you, me or the added fact that we each have a large (and very cute!) dog.

Yes, you do learn to share in kindergarten (usually) but that doesn't have anything to do with the fact that what I earn is mine and what someone else earns is theirs.

Neither situation has anything to do with the other.

When are liberals going to understand that?

We are in deep doo-doo now

"In the hands of a tyrannical majority and leadership, that kind of emasculation of the cloture rule would mean that minority rights would cease to exist in the US Senate," the late Senator Robert Byrd said in 2010.  This guy was super liberal for those of you who aren't familiar with him and his policies.

Filibuster?  Cloture?  What is all this and what does it mean?  I may have bumbled into the answer.  I can't recommend highly enough, the 4th grade page turner, "The Constitution and You."

Senator Lindsay Graham, R, South Carolina, recently said that he would block any further Obama nominees from being confirmed until we get to the bottom of the scandals that have rocked the administration, one after the other, since, well, since, when was that last election?

Just wanted to let you know that Harry Reid, and communism, won today.  He got his way, again.  And, we will all suffer for it.

While you were watching QVC, Obama has been trying to appoint his liberal cronies to lifelong judge positions in DC circuit court.  Who cares, right?  I didn't think much about it either.  But, I read about it today.

See, a president isn't really supposed to commit fraud all over the country to pass legislation and win elections.   In fact, it is frowned upon.  He could get in big trouble, he could get prosecuted, he could go to jail.  It could be really bad for a guy like that.

And, appointees by presidents to important positions need 60 votes in the senate.

With me?

While you were making your shopping list, Republicans were trying to block Obama from appointing his liberal pals to important positions on the DC circuit court.  Because...

THE DC CIRCUIT COURT RULES OVER MATTERS THAT PERTAIN TO THE WHITE HOUSE AND FEDERAL AGENCIES.

So, if the DC circuit court is full of Obama's cronies, not only will he not be punished for anything that he has done.  He can keep right on doing it right through 2016.

See, he is getting rid of those checks and balances with a sickle or a hammer, your choice.  For a good visual of those tools, look at a Russian flag.

Some people thought that he taught constitutional law so that he would know how to UPHOLD the constitution.  (Giggle) He was just perfecting ways to destroy it.  And, he is doing a great job.

But, the rest of us.  We're all in deep doo-doo now.

Arrogance

Sorry, I can't remember how many previous posts I have called "Arrogance."

Bill Clinton was a charismatic guy.  Whether you were a Republican or a Democrat, he didn't make you feel like you were the only person in the room.  He made you feel like you were the only person in the world.  A southern gentleman and (ahem) a hit with the ladies, he was a likable guy, I understand.

Al Gore came along and he, apparantly, isn't like that.  He is really arrogant, people didn't like him at all, especially when you compared him to the extremely likable Clinton.

I understand (from some personal experience, I will never tell) that Obama is also very arrogant.  I heard a prominent politician say that he played a round of golf with the president.  For 18 holes, Obama didn't say one word to him.  They finished the round and Obama walked off the course.

That is just the way that he is.  The office of the president is beneath him, working with colleagues is actually laughable.

So, while Obamacare implodes, Obama needs some help from his friends, right?  Every single Democrat fell in the party line and not only helped Obama get elected, twice, they parroted every single lie that he ever told.

But, arrogant Obama hasn't made any friends.  He hasn't returned favors to his colleagues.  He is totally arrogant.  He didn't think that he needed anyone.  Now, he really needs friends and only the most liberal politicians will stick by him now.  The rest are moderate, I guess.

See you blog about something long enough and will happen!

Those moderate Democrats are:
1. Reasonable or
2. They don't actually want to destroy the country and make it socialist like Obama does, they really do want to help people and just don't understand that liberal policies never work or
3. They want to get re-elected.

There used to be a logical debate.  The southern gentleman wanted larger government to help people in the impoverished south.  The northern businessman wanted smaller government so that business could thrive.

It was a debate, each side had good points.  Each side wanted America to prosper and to succeed.  Somewhere along the line, the debate has changed.  It is no longer this logical debate.  It is the hate America crowd versus the love America crowd.

It is freedom versus the government state.  It is personal responsibility versus the government can take care of you.

And, if you don't agree with the liberal, progressive view, you really don't deserve to live.  You are stupid, a terrorist, etc, etc, etc.

That is where the lying comes in.  Liberals say that all politicians lie.  That is a cop out.  Yes, every politician is a human, and, therefore is imperfect and can do things wrong.  They can even do stupid things.  But, lying about policies in order to enact legislation is distinctly a liberal thing.  Remember, they think it is worth it to lie to constituents because constituents are stupid and the government knows better.

Democrats all over the country are now admitting that Obamacare was a lie.  It was arrogance that made them tell the Obamacare lie, it was arrogance that made them think they wouldn't get caught.

It is arrogance that may be their undoing.

About that website...

Yeah, it isn't going to be working on November 30 after all.  Turns out that 40% of the website hasn't even been built yet.  Kathleen Sebelius admitted yesterday.  Oh, and the administration knew all of this in March, a report from the website's consultants shows.

Are they ever going to see how absolutely foolish they look?  I mean, come on, it isn't a magic date or anything.  You can't just snap your fingers and build a website!

Liberals are in love with an idea.  They are so in love with socially progressive, liberal ideas that even after the ideas have failed, they still cling to them desperately like Kate Winslet holding onto that headboard after the Titanic sank.

After the idea has totally failed in Russia, after the idea has crumbled economies all across Europe and even after the idea has been completely botched here, liberals still hold fast to the idea.

I don't think that even the most kind-hearted, giving American is buying this anymore.

Again, I really want to know what is in it for them.

Why can't the rest of us be free while they sit around in their socialist think tanks and come up with new ways to save us all?

Seriously, why can't the rest of us go back to listening to country music, finding new way to actually produce energy and making stuff while they dream of the liberal utopia?

This capitalist country provides them with the safety to have these dreams.  They don't work.  Let's let the liberals go back to their ivory towers and have the grown-ups come back in to run the government.

Please!

Local taxes and so much more

I told you I would think of something else.

I considered calling this "Local Taxes - the Final Chapter."  But, there will never be an end to the tax burden on my city.

Did I mention that all five tax levies passed?  My property taxes are going to go up at least 30%, if not 50%.  That is an unbearable tax burden.

(Click on those ads!)

I don't go to council meetings, I guess that I should.   But, according to a friend, our mayor looks with  disgust on citizens as they beg him to stop raising taxes, sewer rates, water rates, etc.

I just can't stomach the thought of seeing that.  He is an obese man and I just picture him up on a Dias looking down with disdain on lowly citizens.  I guess the picture is real enough in my mind, I don't need to see it.

But, that is the liberal, bizarro world way of looking at things.

Here is the American, freedom, founding fathers way that it should be: I am sitting on the Dias!  The people that I hired and I pay to take care of government matters should be coming to me on bended knee.

Go on, imagine yourself up there, go on.

Or, even if I am not sitting on my little throne, at least we are standing together, working together as equals.  Only liberals see themselves as rulers over the people.  They don't see themselves as they are, hired by the people and for the people.

Kathleen Sebelius says that she doesn't work for us.  Democrats (every single one) voted to exempt him or herself from Obamacare.  Where does this idea come from?  That the people are pawns, workers who must pay endlessly into the government machine?

And, don't kid yourself.  Even though Obamacare is a complete flop, Obama is continuing with his war on the American way of life.

While you were trying to get on healthcare.gov, he:

-enacted sweeping climate change legislation that will harm the energy industry
-is trying to block sanctions for Iran
-and he is pushing for late-term abortions.

Maybe he should get out of the office more, play more golf.

Now, reports are coming out that people might not spend as much this holiday season.  Well, duh.  What did we think would happen?  We strangle people with insurance premiums that are quadruple what they used to pay and, gee, they can't buy Christmas presents.  Or Chanukah presents, meshugeneh.

I met a woman who is starting a business.  Her main concern is buying health insurance.  Can you believe that?  Her main concern should be what she is making!  She should be concerned with making a product, providing a service, her business plan, profit.  Health insurance should be an after
thought, a small line item on the budget.  It shouldn't be the #1 concern when starting a business or an obstacle.

I saw a poll that if the election were today, Romney would have won.

Mulligan!

Now that the truth is out there, people are starting to wake up.  I just hope it is not too late.  We absolutely have to fill the House and Senate with Republicans.

From the local government to the federal government, we have to elect conservatives.  Or, there will be much more and we won't like it.

Insurance at colleges

Nothing is sacred.  I didn't even think about this, not once, during this entire Obamacare debacle.

Even health insurance that is provided by colleges and universities will change to comply with Obamacare standards.  No wonder he has gone on and on about how "kids" can stay on their parents' insurance until they are 26.  He was going to toss them off their college insurance.

Remember that college insurance?  You paid $100 a semester and you could get all stitched up after a kitchen accident.  I distinctly remember getting pneumonia and going to that icky college clinic.  Anyhoo, just like every other insurance ever provided in this country, it was there and it worked.

Now, colleges like Bowie State University in Maryland are seeing their premiums for coverage of college students rise from $100 a semester to $1,800 a semester!

Why?  The new guidelines under Obamcare do away with "substandard" plans like those and provide much better ones for all of those stupid people who didn't know that they didn't know better!

So, Bowie State is dropping health insurance coverage for its students.  Thanks, Obama!

Senator from New York, Kirsten Gillibrand, gave an interview where she said that, "we knew" all along that premiums would go up and that people would lose their crappy plans.  The president should have just been more specific.

Well, if he had been more specific, I am pretty sure that we all know what would have happened.  There would be no Obamacare and I would be blogging right now about Bill Engvall's performance on Dancing with the Stars.

Nancy Pelosi stands by her statement that we need to pass the bill to find out what is in it.  Ugh, I don't even want to go there.

Well, now we all know what is in it.  Democrats knew what was in it, socialized healthcare.

Now, we need to see if Americans still have any fighting spirit left.  Can we stand up to our socialist, tyrannical government?

I hope so.

The Tea Party Revisited

I just want to go back about 75 posts to the Boston Tea Party.

The Boston Tea Party took place because England had levied unfair, burdensome taxes on the American colonies.

Early Americans didn't want to pay taxes to a government in which they had no say.  The money was going to go to England and the king was going to use the tax money however he wanted.

Our ancestors said, "No way!"  And, of course, dumped the tea into Boston Harbor, a harbinger to the Starbuck's empire that was to come.

Ok, fast forward to today.

The Tea Party was formed in 2009-2010 as a direct result of Obamacare.  Obamacare, as we all now know, (and conservatives have known all along) is an unfair tax that is a burden to tax-paying Americans.  Thinking people said, "No way!"

And, the Tea Party was formed.

I am getting kinda sick of the list of names that Tea Party members have been called.  So, I won't list them again.  They don't make any sense and I have posted them several times.  The point is, Tea Party members have been called loads of icky names.

But, Tea Party members aren't any of those icky things.  They are limited government loving, low tax supporting, tea tossing patriots.

Is there going to be a formal apology from anyone?

I guess I will just wait for that, too.

Not much to say

I haven't forgotten about you or my hundreds of fans in Malaysia.  Hey, Malaysia!

But, I just don't have that much to say.

Now, don't get excited, it won't last.  I am pretty sure that I will think of something, eventually.

It's just that when all of the lying about Obamacare was going on, I felt very compelled to refute the lies.  Crying in my living room just wasn't working.

But, now that everyone knows it was all a lie, I am not sure what to say.  I am kinda waiting to see what will happen.

Obama even admitted that he lied.  But, he is still going right back to fundamentally transforming America, because he believes that it is the right thing to do.  We are just too stupid to figure it out.  So, he is going to do it for us.  Lying is a necessary step on the path to socialism.

Obama's mother and grandparents were card-carrying communists.  Obama is a Marxist.  He ascribes to the ideas of British philosopher Karl Marx, the father of communism.  These are just facts, people. The thing about progressive liberals, Marxists and communists is that they can't get it through their thick heads that their ideas don't work.

It is weird that they have been able to make their message of intolerance, dictatorship and dominance of the individual sound a lot like, "we love trees, we love puppies and we just want to help people."  And, it really is working.

In another nod to bizarro world, the conservative message of, "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" has somehow been twisted into not a message of hope but of greed and intolerance.

Sigh.

Even David Cameron, the Prime Minister of England, spoke this weekend in praise of capitalism.  I get kinda teary-eyed just thinking about it.  Another capitalist said this:

"A truly moral nation enacts policies that encourage personal responsibility and discourage self-destructive behavior by not subsidizing people who live irresponsibly and make poor choices." Dr. Ben Carson.

So, is Dr. Carson a racist because he disagrees wholeheartedly with all of Obama's policies?  Of course not, even the insinuation is ludicrous.  But, (see previous 68 posts) there has been no intelligent discussion of Obama's destructive policies. Only a battle cry that if you prefer freedom to socialism, you must be racist.

Here in the hood, I have figured something out about my neighbors.  When I am talking to a black neighbor, I know that:
1. She is a Christian
2. She wants lower taxes
3. She has a family member in the military
4. She opposes abortion
5. She doesn't give a flying flip about gay marriage
6. She has worked hard, takes care of her house and doesn't want her property value to decline
7. She votes for Obama, even though she doesn't actually agree with any of his policies and has about as much in common with him as the man in the moon.  She has a heck of a lot more in common with me.

When I am talking to a white neighbor:
1. She hates Wal-Mart (Girl! Why would you hate Wal-Mart?)
2. She doesn't really want lower taxes
3. She hates the military, fundamentally
4. She is pro-abortion
5. She is so for gay marriage that she will talk about it to my kids without even asking!
6. She is a liberal and votes for Obama because she believes in his policies.

Krauthammer has said that this whole mess will set American liberalism back a decade.  I hope so.  In the meantime, I will keep watching and waiting.

We are waiting for the Republican fix

"Free enterprise has done more to reduce poverty than all the government programs dreamed up by democrats."  Ronald Reagan

So, now we are waiting for the Republican "fix" to Obamacare.

That is what I am hearing from liberals who are watching the pinnacle of liberalism crumble around them.

"Well, what do the Republicans want to do to fix healthcare?  I haven't heard a solution from them!"

See?  Liberals haven't actually learned anything from this whole mess.  They still believe in big government.  They still cling, hopelessly, to the basic idea that government is good and that government can swoop in and fix things.

And, here is the thing, we aren't going to get a GOVERNMENT solution to healthcare from Republicans.  Do you know why?  Republicans know, fundamentally, that the government doesn't fix things.  The government doesn't make things better.  It makes things worse.

Kinda like Obama said in his press conference the other day.  He even admitted that there is a lot of bureaucracy in the government and the government doesn't do things efficiently.

Duh!

All Republicans know that.  The way to FIX anything in Washington is for the government to GET OUT OF THE WAY.  No new law or new regulation is going to fix the previous, broken law.

Obamacare needs to go on the scrap heap of every other liberal pipe dream.  It needs to go away and we need to remember that.

I think this latest argument (the Republican fix argument) is going to come to the forefront of the political landscape and will be the battle cry of liberals from now until the midterm elections.

So, be prepared, good conservatives!  Here is how the argument needs to be framed, "Look how well it worked out when the government got involved in healthcare.  What needs to happens now is for the government to get out of the way and let the free market take over our healthcare system."

I want to leave you with another excellent quote from the gipper.

"We the people tell the government what to do.  It doesn't tell us."  Ronald Reagan

Despicable

I used to love Oprah.  She was a positive force in the media landscape.  She was the poster child for the American dream.  After a difficult childhood, with hard work and determination, Oprah has built a multi-billion dollar media empire.

For over 30 years, she has been a beloved figure in this country.  From Oscar-winning movie roles to her Emmy-winning talk show, she has been a national treasure.

Her magazine, in a market overrun with negative images for women, was a breath of fresh air.  Filled with inspirational and uplifting messages, it has also been a success.

I am not sure if her television network is doing as well.

But,

When did she become a racist?

When I see her go on the BBC and say that people are critical of Obama because he is black.  It doesn't just make me sad.  It makes me outraged and, frankly, it hurts.

It is so untrue.  It is so harmful to talk only about this president's race.  His character has proved him to be a liar.  He has knowingly lied numerous times for the past 5 years.  It is proven.  Not even liberal commentators can deny the president's falsehoods.

And, then Oprah (again) says that people don't like him because he is black.

I gotta tell ya, that hurts me, Oprah.  You are a very wealthy women because of the devotion of the American people.  Americans, mostly white, have been devoted to your brand and they have used their hard-earned money to support your brand and give you a life-style that most people can only dream of.

I wish that there could be an honest debate about this president's character and his liberal policies.  I really wish that we would only evaluate this man on the content of his character and not the color of is skin.

Republicans have ONLY talked about this president's socialist policies which are driving this country into the ground.

But, liberals seem incapable of talking about the president's business-killing, middle-class destroying, tax and regulation burdening policies.

They can only talk about his race.

Why?

Why, Oprah, why?

I think this focus on Obama's race is despicable.

Dream

"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."  Martin Luther King, Jr.

I have heard it said that it is very sad that our first black president in the United States is going to go down in history as the most corrupt, inept, divisive president ever.  There were a lot more adjectives, but, you get it.

It is interesting that no logical debate has ever even been allowed about this president and his policies.  Anyone who dares to discuss or (gasp!) disagree with him on anything is declared a "racist!"

Interestingly, elite, racist liberals have been doing exactly the opposite of what Dr. King dreamed about.  Instead of judging Obama on the content of his character - he has been judged ONLY by the color of his skin.

"A reporter once asked me why I didn't talk a lot about race.  I said because I'm a neurosurgeon...You see, when I take them to the operating room and cut the scalp and take off the bone slab, I'm operating on the thing that makes that person who they are.  The cover doesn't make them who they are.  When are we going to understand that?"  Dr. Ben Carson

Diversion

We need a diversion right about now, don't we?

Remember the story of the ant and the grasshopper?  The diligent ant works all summer long to store food for the winter.  The foolish grasshopper mocks the ant and plays all summer long.  When winter comes, the ant is warm and well-fed in its home.  But, the lazy grasshopper dies in the cold.

That is what we used to teach our children.  We taught them that hard work was a good thing.  Now, we mock hard work and demonize success.  And, what has it gotten us?

The mess that we are in now.

Here is a sad, but true version of the ant and the grasshopper for today.  Thank you, Eva!

The  ant works hard
in  the withering heat and the rain all summer long, building his house
and  laying up supplies for the winter.

The  grasshopper thinks the ant is  a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.
Come  winter, the shivering grasshopper calls  a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be
allowed  to be warm and well fed while he is cold and starving..

CBS,  NBC, PBS, CNN, and  ABC show up to
provide  pictures of the shivering
grasshopper next  to a video of the ant in  his comfortable home with a table filled with food.
America  is stunned by the sharp contrast.
How  can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper   is  allowed to suffer so?
Kermit  the Frog appears on  Oprah with  the grasshopper and  everybody cries when they sing, 'It's Not Easy
Being Green ...'

Occupy  the Anthill stages a  demonstration in front of the ant's house  where the news stations film the SEIU group singing, We  shall overcome.
Then  Rev Al Sharpton's assistant has  the group kneel down to pray for the grasshopper
while  he damns the ants. The Reverend Al can not attend as he has contractual commitments to appear on his MSNBC show for which he is paid over two million dollars a year to complain that rich people do not care.

President  Obama condemns  the ant and  blamesPresident  Bush 43, President Bush 41, President Reagan,  Christopher Columbus, and the Pope for  the grasshopper's plight….
Nancy  Pelosi & Harry Reid exclaim  in an interview on The View    that  the ant has gotten  rich off the back of the grasshopper  ,
and  both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair  share.

Finally,  the EEOC drafts the  Economic  Equity & Anti-Grasshopper  Act retroactive  to the beginning of the  summer.
The  ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of  green  bugs and,
having  nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the
Government  Green Czar and  given to the grasshopper

The  story ends as we see the grasshopper and  his free-loading friends finishing up the last bits of the ant's  food while the government house he is in, which, as you recall, just  happens to be the ant's  old house,
crumbles  around them because the grasshopper  doesn't maintain it.
The  ant has disappeared in the snow, never to be seen again.

About that fix

I just can't stop myself.

For those of you keeping track, at his press conference today, Obama unilaterally delayed the individual mandate of his signature healthcare law, Obamacare.  Well, he thinks that he did.  He can't just change laws in a press conference.

If you remember, the federal government was closed for 17 days in October.  It was closed because Republicans (arsonists, terrorists, evil, stupid) asked for a DELAY OF THE INDIVIDUAL MANDATE of Obamacare.

Fit throwing Democrats called Republicans every name in the book.  The president was resolute, he wouldn't budge, he wouldn't delay the individual mandate.

After 6 weeks of the Obamacare debacle, Democrats are now begging the president to do exactly what they refused to let Republicans do.  They are begging the president to do the exact thing that they called, crazy, extremist, evil, stupid, terrorist, arsonist, and on and on.

And, they are changing their tunes now purely for political reasons.  They aren't doing it because of a deep love of the American people.  They are doing it to save their own skins.  It actually breaks my heart that these ruthless politicians only care about their political careers.

They have mocked, belittled and marginalized every single one of the 5 million Americans who HAD insurance and are losing it.  There are people with stage 4 cancer who have been kicked off their insurance because of Obamacare.  The trite response by the president and (some foolish) liberal commentators that "they can find better insurance on healthcare.gov" is not only laughable, it is complete folly.  And, it is cruel.

I have heard interviews with people who voted for Obama, who have decided to DIE rather than burden their families with the bills from their illnesses.  What happened to not being kicked off your insurance if you had a pre-existing condition?  What happened to that?

All this time, Republicans were the only people who understood that actual, living, breathing human beings were going to lose their health insurance because of Obamacare.  Republicans knew that people would die because of Obamacare.  Republicans were the only ones who tried to fix it, who worked tirelessly to repeal it, defund it, delay it, anything so that this horrible fraud wouldn't be perpetuated on the American people.

See "the invention of lying."  Democrats used every single one of those tactics against Republicans and it seemed to be working.  I have seen very few liberal commentators who are able to defend this law now.

There is no "fix" for Obamacare.  It needs to be repealed.  We need to go back to the system that we had - the free market.  It wasn't perfect, but what is?  The government wading in to save us didn't work, it will never work.  The government doesn't fix things, it doesn't create things, it destroys things.

Harvard Econ

I am really worried about the economics department at Harvard.  A Harvard economics professor advised Obama on his signature legislation, Obamacare.

How can anyone who knows anything about economics sign off on a government run healthcare plan?

Ok, here is what he said - if the healthcare marketplace was open and running, people will see lower priced health plans.

Hmmm, the people who have been able to get on the website found that plans cost double, triple and quadruple what they had before.  And, the deductibles were so high that they couldn't possibly use the insurance if they needed to.

He said that people won't be forced to buy insurance on the exchanges.  People will RUN to the exchanges because they are going to get much better healthcare from Obamacare than they had before.

Um, the people who have visited the healthcare marketplace aren't finding that to be true at all.

He said that the cost of plans on the healthcare.gov insurance marketplace reflect a 16% lower cost than similar plans cost on the open market two years ago.

Okaaaaay.  But, that doesn't appear to be true based on any evidence from the real world.

What are they teaching at the Harvard economics department?

Is anyone buying this?

Here we go...

Ok, now that his back is pressed completely against the wall, Obama is going to "fix" his healthcare law.

All those people can keep their healthcare plans, just like he promised.  IF, the insurance companies can rewrite and reissue those policies in time.

The arrogance of this man knows no limits.  As he has lied right to our faces for 6 years (that is including one campaign year) not only did he know he was lying, he did it for a reason.

FOR THE GREATER GOOD.  He genuinely believes that socialism is the only way and lying is totally ok to make it happen, no matter what.

And, he almost got away with it.  Americans are unbelievably generous and forgiving - because our country was founded on the Judeo-Christian ethic.  When taxes went up, people thought, "ok, I am helping those less fortunate."  When insurance premiums starting going up some, people were still basically ok because they figured that poor people would get health insurance.

But, to be completely kicked off your healthcare plan and have no alternative for health insurance is completely unacceptable to even the most giving of Americans.

Obama's snark fest responses to these people was outrageous!
"It's only 5 million people."  What?!?!?
"It's only 5% of the market."  Are you kidding me?!?!?!
"They can get better plans on healthcare.gov, their plans were substandard anyway."  LOL

I was wondering in a previous post how that would work out.  It didn't.  And, not too many of his democrat friends were falling into that party line.  Kathleen Sebelius and Dr. Emanuel are the only ones I have heard who want socialism badly enough to have parroted those outrageous talking points.

Most liberal commentators can't even find a way to spin this positively for the president.

So, Bill Clinton, the poster child for high moral standards, gave Obama the ultimate smack down.  And, doggone it, if Obama didn't listen to ole Bill.

Obama is in a bad way.  You know why he can't fire anybody, right?  If he did all of his lies and deception would come out for everyone to see.  His inner circle must stay in place, otherwise we would cotton on to all of his schemes.  Stupid as we are.

See lying, when you know that you're lying, and you have a reason to perpetuate that falsehood for personal gain - that is called fraud.  And, it is a felony.  And, it is punishable by law.  The fact that he is coming out now and being "sorry" and going to "change" the law to "fix" it puts him in the precarious position of admitting to the fraud.

There really isn't much that I can say.  Every possible thing that every single conservative ever said was going to happen is happening.  I can just watch in wonder as it all unravels.

Dr. Krauthammer says that the Obamacare disaster could set American liberalism back by a decade.

I hope that he is right.

Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel

So, I am watching all of these democrats leaping away from Obama likes rats taking a swan dive off the Titanic and I am perplexed.

I knew Obama was lying all that time, you knew he was lying, he knew he was lying.  We have been over that, a lot.

But, did the democrats not know that?  Maybe when you major in women's studies, there isn't a big focus on microeconomics.  Even Diane Feinstein, the queen of American liberalism, is co-sponsoring a bill to let people keep their insurance plans!

And, she isn't even up for re-election.  Almost every democratic senator who is up for re-election is quivering and begging Obama to do something about all of their constituents getting kicked off get health insurance.

And, wow, have you heard the guy who wrote Obamacare?  Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel?  Yikes!  He just yells and interrupts and if the interviewer tries to talk, he says, "Will you stop yelling at me?  Will you stop interrupting me and let me talk?"

Um....

It used to be that people like that were described at living in an "ivory tower."  Have you ever heard of that?  People in academia can sit around, smoke you-know-what and float all sorts of awesome ideas around that can save the world.  I have never understood why they can't come up with something better than socialism.  But, there it is.  All of us who have been successful in business would just chuckle and go, "yeah, that's a great idea.  Let's give that a try."

But, now that there is an America-hating hippie in the White House, this pinhead, liberal rhetoric has  been moved from that tower to the forefront of our political landscape.

And, people are actually buying it!

"Well, he is professor Pinhead from ICU, we should listen to him." Ahem.

This doctor guy knew that the individual insurance market would go away under Obamacare.  He knew it.  He wanted it.

BECAUSE HE WANTS SOCIALIZED HEALTHCARE.  Government controlled healthcare is the linchpin in a socialist society.  Without government takeover of healthcare, you can't have a socialist society.

That is why Obama holds the line on this one without flinching.  Even though now, he is the only one  standing there.  Emanuel will go back to his tower, pretty soon Sebelius will be "spending more time with her family."

And, who will be left standing there with him?  I don't know.

Social Security - follow up

As you watch Washington waste billions of dollars on nothing, wouldn't it be nice to know that all that money you paid into social security was sitting in an account?  The account had your name on it and you would get it when you retire.

Ah, I can dream, right?

Well, I am so sick of Obamacare that I may have to see a doctor.

Wait...

So, back to social security.  Thanks for reading and thanks for sending me this excellent material, Debbie!

Please see the information below about social security.  Reading this is a good reminder of why our socialist think tanks, I mean public schools, have to teach revisionist history.  If they were teaching the real thing, 4th graders would be storming the White House!

Right?

Social Security Cards up until the 1980s expressly stated the number and Card were not to be used for identification purposes. Since nearly everyone in the United States now has a number, it became convenient to use it anyway and the message, NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION was removed.

An old Social Security card with the "NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION" message.
Our Social Security - Franklin Roosevelt, a Democrat, introduced the Social Security (FICA) Program. He promised:

1) That participation in the Program would be completely voluntary,
No longer Voluntary

2) That the participants would only have to pay 1% of the first $1,400 of their annual incomes into the Program, Now 7.65% On the first $90,000.

3) That the money the participants elected to put into the Program would be deductible from their income for tax purposes each year,
No longer tax deductible

4) That the money the participants put in went to the Independent 'Trust Fund' rather than into the General Operating Fund, and therefore, would only be used to fund the Social Security Retirement Program, and no other Government program, and,
Under Johnson the money was moved to The General Fund and spent.
5) That the annuity payments to the retirees would never be taxed as income.
Under Clinton & Gore up to 85% of your Social Security can be taxed.

Since many of us have paid into FICA for years and are now receiving a Social Security check every month -- and then finding that we are getting taxed on 85% of the money we paid to the Federal government to 'put away -- you may be interested in the following:

Which Political Party took Social Security from the Independent 'Trust Fund' and put it into the General Fund so that Congress could spend it?
It was Lyndon Johnson and the Democratically controlled House and Senate.

Which Political Party eliminated the income tax deduction for Social Security (FICA) withholding?
The Democratic Party.

Which Political Party started taxing Social Security annuities?
The Democratic Party with Al Gore casting the 'tie-breaking' deciding vote as President of the Senate, while he was Vice President of the U.S.

Which Political Party decided to start giving annuity payments to immigrants?
That's right! Jimmy Carter and the Democratic Party.
Immigrants moved into this country, and at age 65, began to receive Social Security payments! The Democratic Party gave these payments to them, even though they never paid a dime into it!

Then, after violating the original contract (FICA), the Democrats turn around and tell you that the Republicans want to take your Social Security away!

And the worst part about it is uninformed citizens believe it!

The invention of lying

Do you remember the first lie?  It happened in the garden of Eden.  The snake lied to Eve.  He told her that it was ok to eat the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, even though God told her not to.  But, he had to do a lot of things to sell the lie.  See, there is a lot involved in lying.

When Obama's lips start to move, I know that he is lying.  But, I have known it for a very long time because of the way that he says certain things.  Everyone should know this by now.  It is not new, it is not a creative way to spin a yarn.  It is lying, plain and simple and here are the elements so that you can show them to others in the future:

-the first thing that happens is the liar adds something to the truth that is being told by the truth teller. When Republicans said that people would lose their health plans, Democrats started screaming into every possible amplification system, "Republicans don't want poor people to get health insurance!"  See?  That is the first part, they distort the truth.

I digress here for a moment.  I just want to say, again, that people who don't have insurance are covered by their states.  If they go to the emergency room, the bill gets paid, by the state.  If we had taken the billion dollars that was wasted on Obamacare (so far) and used it to pay for the bills for those who don't have insurance, it would have been a much better investment.  Don't you think?

-the next step in the lying process is to mock the truth teller.  "Ha, ha, ha, he is so dumb!"  Republicans have said and keep saying that Obamacare isn't going to work.  It can't possibly work because you can't add 15 million more people into the system without costs going up.  Well, we couldn't possibly have people hearing that little tidbit of truth!  So, mock Republicans.

-after that, the lying proceeds to denying, "what he said couldn't possibly be true."  At this point, we are so far into the lying, that this step is just easy.  We have already distorted the truth, mocked the truth teller, denying the truth is just easy by now.

-the final step and my all time favorite in the liberal arsenal is:  character assassination.  "Well, he is just an idiot and evil and terrible, etc, etc, etc,.  Here is the part that we have been seeing for quite a while.  We have been at the final stage of the terrible Obamacare lie for sometime.  So, the last, most ferocious, and important step is to completely assault the character of the truth teller.

Sad, isn't it?  That is exactly what democrats have been doing this entire time.  Their play book reads from the lying manual.

Can you see it?  Can you see how this is classic lying?

You would see it if a child were doing it.

It's funny, I thought for sure that the lie, "we are going to only raise taxes on the rich" would get Obama in trouble.  Before he was even sworn in the second time, payroll taxes went up for everyone by 2%.  He got away with it.

I thought for sure that the lie about Benghazi might give him some problems.  Nope, the. media really covered that one up for him.

When it was revealed that Obama has been torturing his political opponents using the IRS, I thought for sure that would trip him up.  No way, he is just going along on his merry way.

But, when we all found out that the NSA is spying on all of us - surely, there would be national outrage!  No, he just keeps be-bopping along fundamentally changing America.

Finally, every lie that has been told for 5 years, is being found out.  Sick Americans, hard working Americans, Americans who voted for him - are losing their insurance.

Can he get away with this one?  The lying play book is out, it is being used in full force.  Will it work this time?

What now?

Extremists
Arsonists
Terrorists
Liars
Evil
Stupid

I am not describing our enemies.  They, by the way, are watching us bumble ourselves into oblivion.  They are also laughing at us and salivating over our demise.

I am using the terms that have been used, on the national stage, by Democrats, for five years, to describe Republicans.  Republicans are, in fact, people who want:

Limited government
Lower taxes
A free market
States' rights
Personal responsibility

Look at the first list again.  We have been called those things and worse for five years.  Now, look at the second list.  This is what we actually want.

And, you know what?  Every single thing that Republicans said would happen if Obamacare went through, has happened, or is happening.

Why?  Are Republicans clairvoyant?  Can we see the future?  No.  This has been tried all over the world and it has failed every time.

The government does a terrible job of running stuff.  Whenever the government says that it wants to take over a perfectly good part of your life and "make it better" RUN.

It has been really interesting to see all of the talking points out there now by the democrats.  Several are waking up, I admit it.  They don't want to lose their jobs.

But, the snarky, arrogant line that is being spun out there by many, including the president, is downright disturbing.  They are now saying that the over 4 million people who had health insurance and are losing the insurance are:

1. A small number of people, they are actually belittling and blowing off over 4 million people who have lost their health insurance!  They just don't care!  How can the party of tolerance, the party of "we want to help the little guy" say that they don't care about 4 million people?!?!?  Some of these people are sick and are losing their insurance.  What happened to "you can't lose your insurance if you have a pre-existing condition?  What happened to that?

2.  Well, they had crappy plans anyway.  See, the government knows that you are stupid.  The president truly believes that you are stupid and he wants you to know that he is here to take care of you.  Your plan, that you liked and wanted to keep and he promised that you could was crappy!  So.....

3.  If you just go to healthcare.gov, there will be a much better plan out there for you!  If those evil Republicans would just stop trying to stop us (hee hee) you could go on our website, shop around ad find a much better plan, but...

4.  The plans cost 2 to 4 times more than you were currently paying and you can't afford them.  Well, you can't afford them AND food.  No problem...

5.  We are going to give you subsidies to help pay for those plans that are soooo much better.  All of our plans have maternity care even though you are a young, healthy male.  All of our plans have pediatric care, even if you are 60 years old and don't have any children living with you.

See?  We are all paying more.  For the greater good.  We are going to increase the cost of EVERYONE'S PLANS so that the cost of maternity, cancer, pediatrics is spread around so that everybody pays for it.  See?  Isn't that great?

IT'S SOCIALISM.  IT IS SOCIALIZED HEALTHCARE.

If the truth about Obamacare was told, even once, it wouldn't have passed.  Every time that Republicans called it exactly what is was, socialized healthcare, they were called all of those terrible names.

Guess what?  Our free society doesn't want it.  They see what it is now and they don't want it.  But, what can we do?  Our arrogant president, who knew all along EXACTLY WHAT HE WAS DOING is going ahead with this plan and there is nothing you or I (or anyone who is reasonable) can do about it.

War on Christmas

This may surprise you - I love Christmas.  It really is the most wonderful time of the year.  I think that is it never too early to sing Christmas carols and you can never sing them too loud.

But, for every 99 Americans who feel the exact same way that I do, there is one atheist lurking out there.  He or she will use every attorney in the ACLU arsenal to take away your first amendment right to freedom OF religion.

It isn't freedom FROM religion.  The first amendment guarantees the right to practice your religion, in the way that you choose, freely.

One of the big things in the war on Christmas is the refusal to even say the word, "Christmas."
Holiday cards
Holiday carols
Holiday tree
I am even looking at a calendar, right now, published by our local zoo.  It says that the zoo is closed on January 1 for New Year's Dat.  It says that the zoo is closed on December 25 for "the holidays."

This is sick.

Are we going to start calling the 4th of July, "fireworks day?"  Are we going to start calling Labor Day, "a relaxing day in the end of summer."  Do we call a Menorah a "festive lighting display?"

No, no and no.

We send out Christmas cards once a year, for Christmas.
We make and eat Christmas cookies.  When they are in the shapes of stars, bells, and Santas, they are Christmas cookies.
Once a year we sing Christmas carols, to celebrate Christmas.
Once a year, we hack down a pine tree and put it in the living room, it is called a Christmas tree.

And, I haven't even started on "winter break" at school, winter concerts, winter everything.  Ugh.

But, we still call Ramadan, Ramadan, we still call Chanukah, Chanukah.  Why can't we just call Christmas, Christmas?!?!?

I am not done, I will finish this later.

Lessons from the road

I am in sales.  So, I travel and meet new people all the time.

Last year, during the election, there was absolutely no hope for reasonable debate.  One time, an unhinged liberal actually yelled at me, at work, for about 2 hours.  I couldn't get a word in edgewise.

Now, it is very different.  Only a year ago, if you said anything negative about Obama in any way, you would be called - racist, stupid, evil.  It was unbelievable.  There was no discussion, no exchange of ideas.  There was only fear-mongering liberals shouting at reasonable, constitution-loving conservatives.

But, now the conversation has changed, dramatically.  The idiotic, freedom-destroying socialist ideas of the left are starting to hit honest, hard-working Americans in their wallets.  It doesn't matter if you are a good hearted liberal who voted for Obama.  If you had an insurance plan that he didn't like, it is getting cancelled.

Period.

If your plan was substandard by the president's standards, you are losing the plan. Period.

And, if your doctor isn't on the Obamacare plan, you are never going to see him or her again.  Period.

So, I met someone who was very worried about how her health insurance would change under Obamacare.  Her agent has already told her that her premiums are going to go though the roof.  But, she didn't know why.  So, I channeled my inner Andrea Tantaros and told her - her policy now covers maternity care whether she wants more children or not.  Her policy now covers pediatric care, no matter of she has children or not.

Using the argument that we all pay property taxes regardless of whether or not we have children in school and we all pay taxes for roads, whether or not we use that particular road, democrats NOW say that Obamacare merely is spreading healthcare costs around to everyone.

Each person I met had one thing to say about that plan - CRAP!  If Obamacare had been sold that way to the American people - as a new tax that would spread the cost of healthcare around so that we all share the burden, it never would have passed.

Of course, you and I knew that socialized healthcare was just that - a new tax so that everyone pays more and the indigent pay nothing.  But, for some reason, a lot of people didn't know that.  Obama has thrown around a lot of lies, from "Fast and Furious" to the NSA spying scandal.  But, this lie, it just hits too close to home.  I am not sure that Americans are going to lie down and take this one.

Another person I met on my travels told me an interesting perspective on abortion.

The left would have us believe that murdering 55 million unborn, unwanted children is getting rid of people who would only be a drain on society.

Her message - Beethoven was unwanted, the 10th child, unwanted, born into poverty.

What if he had been aborted?

She went on, if all 55 million of those children, each one formed in its mother's womb by God, was allowed to live, think of the economic boom.  They all would have needed diapers, strollers.  And, they could now be productive members of our society.

Think about that the next time someone preaches to you the religion of "pro-choice" they aren't pro-choice, they are pro-abortion.  Don't be fooled.

Today I met a woman who lives in a rural area.  It is the epicenter of Americana and religious freedom. Her daughter's class was required to write, in Arabic, "there is no god other than Allah."  She was off her nut, she was so livid.  Did the school care?  Did they retract the lesson?  Did they make amends?

No way, her daughter flunked that lesson.

Each person told me these things willingly.  The conversation has begun, there isn't any fear of reprisal.  No matter what side of the aisle you are on, Americans are waking up and seeing that their way of life is being taken from them.  Their freedom of religion, their freedom of choice, their freedom to have the healthcare that they want, it is all being taken away.

And, as they talk about it, the fear diminishes.  The anger grows.  This sleeping giant, the American people, who love freedom, are going to stand up and fight.

I can't wait!

Liberal lies

Misunderstandings, wardrobe malfunctions, whatever you want to call them.

They are lies.

Perpetuated by liberals.

When a liberal says, "we are going to raise taxes on the rich, only people who make over $250,000 a year will get a tax increase."  I don't believe it.  I know that everyone will get a tax increase.

Why don't democrats know that the whole "raise taxes on the rich" line is a lie?

When Obama said that you could keep your plan, period.  I knew that he was lying.

When he said that you could keep your doctor, period.  I also knew that we was lying.

When he said that premiums would go down for everybody, yup, I knew that he was lying.

(I didn't know that he had documents all over the White House letting everyone know definitely that he was lying.)

But, I knew that each of those promises was false.  So, when each one was proved to be a falsehood. I wasn't surprised.

Many, many millions of people ACTUALLY BELIEVED HIM!  And, now that all of those things have been proven to be not true, period, they are shocked and outraged.

Hunh.

Admit it, you knew that all of those promises weren't true.  You can't keep your plan when the government takes over healthcare.  Once the government is in charge, you get the healthcare plan that they give you.

You can't keep your doctor when the government is in charge, you go to the doctor that the government says you will go to, when they say it.

When, all of a sudden, a perfectly good system that operates in the free market is taken over by the government, costs don't go down.  (Remember all of that setting up an office thing and the cushy chairs, it was in a previous post.)

Well, the government has to spend a whole bunch of money just administering stuff.  For example, the government wasted between $394 and $600 million on a website that doesn't work.  The insurance industry actually doesn't have that kind of overhead to pass on to consumers.

When the inefficient, ineffective, not agile, not business savvy, not free market operating government takes over something, the costs don't go down, they go up.

I know that, you know that.  We didn't believe him for a minute.

But, a whole bunch of people did.  And, you know what?  They are really ticked off.

I guessed that everyone knew that he was lying and assumed that they would benefit somehow from a new government entitlement program.  I am so jaded!  It's this blogging business, it is bringing me down.

I just have to revert right back to my good-hearted liberal theory once again.  Good hearted liberals voted for Obama.  They wanted to help people who didn't have health insurance.  They believed that Obama would help all of those people get insurance.  They never thought for a minute that he was just lying.

Since it has become painfully obvious, even to Bill Maher, that Obama is lying, Obama has blamed every single person on the planet.  That hasn't worked out too well.

Now, he is out spinning the original lie with a new lie.

I am really curious to see if that works any better.

Good hearted liberals, please start voting Republican.  You will have more money to give to people who need it.  I will work right next to you at the soup kitchen, promise.

Let's get a Republican in there, put this whole mess behind us and get our freedom back.

Chris Christie

I think it is time that we talk about New Jersey Governor Chris Christie.

Do I think that he is perfect?  No.
Do I like everything about him? No.
Do I think that he needs to lose a little more weight?  Sorry, big guy.

But, will I vote for him?  YES!

Why?  Because our guy is always better than their guy.  Or, let's face it, girl.

In fact, whether it is Ted Cruz, Rand Paul, Sarah Palin or Newt Gingrich, I would vote for any of them.  Why?  Because our guy (or gal) is always better than their gal.

Weird accent, funny glasses, the smirk, what is up with that hair, I don't care.  Our guy is our guy and I will vote for our guy.

Got it?

Ever taken a look at somebody's ears?  Not one democrat said a word about it, they just got in the line.

And, that is exactly what we need to do.

No candidate will be perfect, no candidate will have the exact same opinion that you have on everything.

But, at least the Republican will love America, will lower taxes, will stop strangling businesses with new regulation.  At least the Republican will believe in the middle class or at least understand the concept of what that is.  He or she will understand that $2,500 a year means something to some people.  It is not a discretionary shoe budget.  Or the budget to tip the help.

The Republican will not label Christians a "hate group."  Or ban prayer.  The Republican will not label our founding fathers as "radical extremists." He will call radical extremists, "radical extremists."  The Republican may even say the Pledge of Allegiance and sing the national anthem.

He or she will understand that we don't want to pay more taxes and we had a big tea party just to make that point.  He may even understand, uphold and follow the constitution.

He may think that he isn't above the office, the constitution and the law.

Whoever he or she is, I plan to vote for him (or her.)

And, so should you.

Ann Coulter

Sometimes, I think that I have never had an original thought.

Other times, Ann Coulter says something that I have been saying for years.  (I am guessing that she didn't hear me say it, ha, ha.)

But, last night I heard her say something that I have been saying for some time.  She says it differently, but here is how I say it,

"OUR GUY IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN THEIR GUY."  What I mean (and I think she means, too) is that we have to stop in-fighting in the Republican Party.

I belong to a Republican group, you would think it was a bunch of liberals the way everyone is trashing different Republicans!

Here is the thing - is the person fiscally conservative?  Does the person want to lower taxes, cut government waste, and/or in any way reduce the size of the government?

THEN VOTE FOR HIM (OR HER)!

I am serious.  If people hadn't been so picky about different things they didn't like about Mitt Romney, we would be all warm and cozy from Keystone Pipeline oil, munching on food that costs 1/3 as much that we got in our cars and bought with gas that costs 1/4 as much as it does now.

We would be planning our Christmas spending, not figuring out how we can pay for the skyrocketing cost of our health insurance.

Seriously, people, we need to band together.  Yes, we are all educated, opinionated, free thinkers.  But, we can still band together and all vote the party line, can't we?

After all, OUR GAL IS BETTER THAN THEIR GAL.

Please remember that.

Liberals had plenty of misgivings about Obama.  I know, they told me.  But, what did they do, they all fell right in line and voted for him anyway.  Through all of the incompetence, lies, scandals, blaming, they have barely wavered.  They stay right in line with the party.

They believe that government control, the welfare state and a weak economy is WORTH IT.  So, they stay in line because they know, by doing so, they are going to get what they want.

A welfare collecting, nanny-state of voters who will keep them in office forever.

Why don't we know that what we are fighting for is worth it?  Why don't we see that 'R' is worth punching?

What we have to fight for REALLY IS worth it.  Freedom, liberty, states' rights, lower taxes, limited government, reduced government waste.  IT IS WORTH IT.  And, we know what all of those things bring, a windfall of prosperity TO EVERYONE!

Of course the media will whine and complain about it, but we won't care!  We will be at Applebee's showing each other our new coats!  We will drive there in our new cars.

Anyway, thank you, Ann, for saying on the national stage what some of us are thinking over here on our little stages.

Keep it up.
