I am sure that you have been sitting there all day waiting to hear what I have to say about New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and his bridge scandal.
Well, even if you haven't, as you know, I am going to tell you anyway.
As you can see in my previous post, the governor's office should NOT have closed down the George Washington bridge for political retribution.
Political retribution - remember that - we will come back to that in a minute.
And, Christie's staff shouldn't have lied about it.
Lying - hmmm - hold onto that thought, too.
But, in my humble opinion, here is what Christie did today and he did it right:
1. He apologized. Now, I know that we have heard a lot of apologizes from a certain politician lately. But, those apologies were insincere.
2. He took responsibility for the mistake. Has Obama ever taken responsibility for anything?
3. He actually did something about it. Christie's advisor, Bridget Anne Kelly, was fired today. She wasn't put on paid administrative leave, she wasn't promoted, she didn't "retire from public office to spend more time with her family." That is code, btw, for a ticket to Cabo.
4. He actually spoke to his political opponent. I mean, he justed walked out of the Fort Lee mayor's office, like two minutes ago.
Now, let's compare this response to some other policitian and some recent scandals, shall we?
First of all, I in no way whatsoever equate closing a bridge in Fort Lee, NJ with the murderous, negligent and tyrannical policies of the Obama administration.
Second, I wish that the clever reporters at the New York Times would use their investigative journalism skills on both sides of the aisle. Ah, I can dream can't I?
Can you imagine how much better informed the electorate would be? Of course, more people would vote Republican and they would lose elections. But, would that be so bad? Would a level playing field really be so awful?
Ok, the IRS under the Obama administration, led by Lois Lerner, has been torturing political opponents of the president since 2010. Lois Lerner refused to testify before congress and now she has retired, with full benefits.
Obama has lied about so much stuff that his pants are currently engulfed in flames. Nothing has happened to him or anyone in his administration.
Obama has feigned outrage about the host of scandals that have plagued his administration his entire second term. But, he has never done anything about it. No one has ever been fired.
Can you see a difference in Christie's response today and Obama's response to all of his scandals?
