Doing alright

Last night, as I was drifting off to sleep and thinking about happier times, I (very thankfully) realized that we are doing ok.  Despite everything that Obama is doing to hurt hard-working Americans, we just had a really nice Christmas and are doing fine.

That is saying something - the price of gas had doubled and food had tripled in the past 5 years.

But, our lives have changed quite a bit in the past five years.  We used to go out to eat, at a sit down type restaurant, once a week.  Well, we went out at least once a week.

We might do that once a quarter now.  We go out 1/12 as much as we used to.

We have to spend that extra money on food and gas, we just have to.

So, what does this have to do with anything?  Well, if millions of Americans are faced with the exact same income and a tripling in food and doubling in gas prices, don't they also have to forego things?

Eventually, Applebee's will go out of business.

Do you think that Obama cares?  No way, he and Michelle have lobster flown in every night.

People will, over time, buy fewer shoes, go on fewer trips, spend less at the mall.

Famous Footwear, Motel 6 and Bath and Body Works will all go out of business.

Does he care?  No way, he has a cobbler, the Lincoln bedroom and an aromatherapist.

American ingenuity is TRYING to forge ahead despite every conceivable obstacle from the president - taxes, regulations, fines, Obamacare.  You see restaurants giving deals so they can stay in business.

Netflix is a perfect example of an ingenious way to save people money on their entertainment.

But, that is all DESPITE the president wanting those businesses to fail.  Do you see what I mean?  Can you imagine if we had a president who understood capitalism?  The economy would grow like crazy.  More people would be lifted out of poverty because there would be more jobs and opportunity.  Lower taxes would give us all more money to spent on stuff to make our lives better.  That would translate to higher earnings for companies and more revenue for the government.

Capitalism would even help the government!

Why don't liberals know this?

And, they call us stupid all the time.

Well, we really are doing alright and, for that, I am thankful.  But, we could all be doing so much better!
